Andrew Moncarz BSc, DDS, Dip An, MSc, FRCD(C)

Andrew Moncarz was born and raised in Toronto. As a child and teenager, he was fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend two sabbatical years with his family traveling in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He received his DDS from U of T in 1999 as well as the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award for outstanding voluntary service to the university. Dr. Moncarz completed his dental anaesthesiology training at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2001. He received his Masters from U of T and his Fellowship (Royal College of Dentists of Canada) in Endodontics in 2004. He received his Diplomate status from the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology (USA) in 2005.  He became a Specialist in Dental Anaesthesia in Ontario in 2008.

 

Dr. Moncarz is currently a lecturer and a clinical demonstrator at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Disciplines of Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Anaesthesia. He also holds a staff position in the Department of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

 

Dr. Moncarz is a Past President of the George Hare Endodontic Study Club and is a Past President of the Ontario Society of Endodontists. 

 

Out of the office, he enjoys life with his wife, his three children, and his dog.  He is an avid bass player and collector of vintage basses.

Jonathan Madras BSc (Hons.), DDS, Cert Endo, FRCD(C), Diplomate - American Board of Endodontics

 

Jonathan Madras is a Toronto native who brings with him a unique background of experience and education. He obtained his certificate in endodontics at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and his Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, in 2010. Prior to that, he spent a year in Toronto as a general practice resident at Mount Sinai Hospital, working with special-needs patients as well as in the emergency department. He received his DDS degree in 2007 from the University of Western Ontario, and obtained seven awards over the course of his dental training. He received his BSc from Queen’s University in 2002.

 

In between degrees, Jon was a personal fitness trainer at the former Fitness Institute, now the Toronto Athletic Club. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, exercising, camping, skiing, scuba diving, painting and illustration, and playing the guitar.

 

Jon teaches and lectures extensively in the endodontic field. He spoke at the 2010 annual conference for the American Association of Endodontists, and is a clinical instructor for undergraduate dental students at the University of Toronto. Jon is a past president of the George Hare Endodontic Study Club. In December of 2012, he proudly became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Dr. Ralph Dana

Ralph Dana was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, and received his Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Toronto in 2013 and was awarded the George Hare Endodontics Award and the prestigious Lynda Sellars Award, given to the graduating student who demonstrates the greatest overall proficiency with respect to the assessment, planning, treatment and management of patients in the Comprehensive Care Program. 

 

Immediately upon graduation, Dr. Dana worked in family practice in Toronto and Oshawa, ON, and also enrolled in the Implantology mini-residency program in the Oral Reconstruction Clinic at the University of Toronto, with focus on dental implant placement and restoration. While in private practice, Dr. Dana discovered his passion for endodontics, leading him to return to the University of Toronto to pursue his endodontic specialty training, receiving his Masters degree and Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

 

Dr. Dana is involved with the Alpha Omega Toronto Chapter and is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, Canadian Academy of Endodontics, Ontario Society of Endodontists, and Ontario Dental Association. As well, Dr. Dana is a clinical instructor for undergraduate students at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, in the Department of Endodontics. He was awarded “Best Endodontic Demonstrator Award 2016-2017” by the Dental Student Society. 

 

When out of the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, reading, exercising, meditating, and sports of all types
