General Information

Andrew Moncarz BSc, DDS, Dip An, MSc, FRCD(C)

Andrew Moncarz was born and raised in Toronto. As a child and teenager, he was fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend two sabbatical years with his family traveling in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He received his DDS from U of T in 1999 as well as the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award for outstanding voluntary service to the university. Dr. Moncarz completed his dental anaesthesiology training at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2001. He received his Masters from U of T and his Fellowship (Royal College of Dentists of Canada) in Endodontics in 2004. He received his Diplomate status from the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology (USA) in 2005.  He became a Specialist in Dental Anaesthesia in Ontario in 2008.

Dr. Moncarz is currently a lecturer and a clinical demonstrator at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Disciplines of Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Anaesthesia. He also holds a staff position in the Department of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

Dr. Moncarz is an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is the Past President of the George Hare Endodontic Study Club and is currently the President of the Ontario Society of Endodontists. 

Out of the office, he enjoys life with his wife, his three year old son, his newborn baby daughter, and his dog.  He is an avid bass player and collector of vintage basses.

Jonathan Madras BSc (Hons.), DDS, Cert Endo, FRCD(C)

Jonathan Madras is a Toronto native who brings with him a unique background of experience and education. He obtained his certificate in endodontics at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and his Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, in 2010. Prior to that, he spent a year in Toronto as a general practice resident at Mount Sinai Hospital, working with special-needs patients as well as in the emergency department. He received his DDS degree in 2007 from the University of Western Ontario, and obtained seven awards over the course of his dental training. He received his BSc from Queen’s University in 2002.

 

In between degrees, Jon was a personal fitness trainer at the former Fitness Institute, now the Toronto Athletic Club. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, camping, scuba diving, painting and illustration, and playing the guitar.

 

Jon also enjoys teaching and lecturing on topics related to endodontics. He spoke at the 2010 annual conference for the American Association of Endodontists, and is a clinical instructor for undergraduate dental students at the University of Toronto. Jon is also on the 2011-2012 executive for the George Hare Endodontic Study Club.
